The World Urban Youth Assembly is the leading global platform for youth to deliberate on urban issues. In line with the proposed theme for the next World Urban Forum VI in Naples, Italy 2012, Prosperity of cities: Balancing Ecology, Economy and Equity, an African Urban Youth Assembly was proposed. The objectives of the African Urban Youth Assembly are: to become the platform for African youth to discuss lessons learned from UN-HABITAT and partners' programs in the area of urban youth led development; to profile and disseminate models of urban youth led development developed by UN-HABITAT and its partners; and to become a platform for experts and practitioners to deliberate on research, policy and practice as well as lessons learnt on African urban youth issues. The theme of the Assembly is Youth and Prosperity of Cities.
