Building a strategy to fight corruption: Cameroon is ready.

Building a strategy to fight corruption: Cameroon is ready.

Corruption is a social pest, and fighting the illness is not easy. Sometime, this fight may need a good strategy in which you establish your priorities actions and sectors.

Cameroon’s nation is aware of this and since this year 2010 our National Anti-corruption Commission has been working hands in hands with the UNDP CHOC program, the civil society and delegates from particular social sector, to build up a National anti-corruption strategy.

As a youth leader engaged in the fight against corruption in Cameroon, I (your fellow companion GABI WAMBO) had the honor to be called in as member of the committee working on this strategy in the health sector and the judiciary sector. The task was not easy, but we did it.

Now, Cameroon has a “national strategy of fight against corruption”. The document was presented to the government last week and it seeks to tackle corruption in some priority sectors such as: Health, education, public work and contracts, natural resource management, civil society, decentralization, Transportation, the judiciary, the legislative.  This document is still to be made available to the public (I will of course be sending you the link, once the document is available on the web).

But the battle still to come since the document is to be validated by the executive so that the parliament should take appropriate measures such as financial implication in the nation budget, or vote the national anti-corruption law, which we had proposed a project since two years now. We are now calling to all the youth nationwide and you fellow colleagues from the GYAC Network to remain vigilant and let advocate for this to be made real in Cameroon.

We youth, we can use this opportunity to be useful and of great importance in the process of fight against corruption.

Ready ????  GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laurent, brother,

Let us open up a petition online and promote it with our colleagues in our countries. We could also have an event dedicated to Cameroon to be carried out in the same day throughout all the world. What do you think about that ???

For a petition - this website is for free and can help http://www.petitiononline.com/ .

GOOD LUCK! Success for Cameroon is success for humankind worldwide!
