The corruption in Nigeria from various perspectives can be narrowed to the prevalence of corruption and corrupt practises as a preoccupation with fraudulent activities which is largely associated with the syphoning of fund and resources and illegal award of contracts to unscrupulous persons. Though corruption is multifaceted the origin of the menace is as mentioned above and has stifled the growth and development of my country.

Things have deteriorated to an alarming level wherein culprits brazenly roam gallantly on our streets without fear or favour, bribe seekers and takers exchange banters and make a public spectacle of shame of their incongruences. Our roads, water ways and airwaves have become death traps, hospitals have become death centres, our educational system is comatose with similar examples prevalent in all sectors of the economy. It has now become even more critical considering the progression from fraudulent transactions and activities to propaganda, mental and psychological desecration and erosion of what can be termed values of rich ancestry.

We groan, the people of Nigeria are weeping and wailing – having moved from “suffering and smiling” to a state of “total loss and helplessness.”

We need help, it is only the Nigerians that can help ourselves but we need to voice it out - we need the world to know that indeed we are gathering momentum to fight this cancer. We will survive, let those who do not want to love and help rebuild Nigeria stop campaigning to finish up its destruction. If Nigeria is finally extinct it will do nobody any good.

Let the voices sound loud and clear – we are set to fight corruption.
