At 23 years of age, I and all the other approximately 43 million Kenyans owe the international donor community 31,000 Ksh or $373.5. Unfortunately, much of the donor aid cannot be accounted for due to corruption thus leaving us in a sad situation as citizens where we will be forced to pay back the donor debts yet the money given was not used as intended.

How can the youth and especially in Africa ensure that:

  1. 1. We vet all loans our governments borrow and ensure that they are absolutely necessary?
  2. 2. We monitor effectively the use of these monies and hold all officers and offices accountable to the last cent?
  3. 3. We move from a culture of aid dependency, thus reduce a major avenue of corruption and move to self-sustainable economies?
