Semi-annual Virtual Forum of the Global Youth Anti-Corruption Network (tentative December 6, 2010)

Dear all GYACers -

 

It's time again! Half-year since Brussels and almost half-year to another face-to-face event! You must have been wondering what's going on with other network members? What are the highlights in the fight against corruption? What can you get involved?

 

All of these questions - AND MORE - will be part of the semi-annual GYAC Virtual Forum, planned for December 6, 2010. The Forum will be streamed live on the Internet. Among what we will present are:

• Updates on the network and organization for the next events
• Highlights from the International Anti-Corruption Conference in Bangkok, Thailand
• Interesting global governance initiatives and opportunities of youth involvement

We are looking for YOUR own ideas of WHAT to include in this Forum. So tell us what you think!

I confirm my presence.

I agree with Marlon in the importance of doing the follow up of the commitments and agreements reached in brussels, also I think that the review of the platform is necesary, some things could be easier.

This is a laudable one I must say, it is an avenue for the Brussel GYACers to refresh us of the event while we put in our contribution. For the time difference, I think the complete 24hrs of December 6 might just be fine for every member across the globe to participate

Cameroon is bracing up for the 6th Dec event. I have now received the Report template and It would be great to hear a bit of what has happened to different people and movements since Brussels. I suggest we get a fine introduction to the Conference which reminds of Brussels and the commitments we made there...Secondly, I would be nice, we get an assessment also of how effective the GYAC-N Ning platform has been in reaching out to different young people. How are our friends the Musicians and Journalists doing, many are seen to be active on NING. We need to know what is happening with these colleagues and their sector work.

Linh, you said Dec 6th was a tentative date. You know International Anti-Corruption day is 09 December, is it possible to have this event shifted to the 9th??? Just reflecting on how a day could help make an impact further....

Emmanuel, I agree with you about the Ning platform assesment. How could we do this?
Unfortunatelly on the 9th I have several activities in which my organization is participating, so that is not a good time for me.
