10th Anti-Corruption Public Forum, Vratsa,29.04.2011

The latest amendments to the Public Procurement Law were the main topic of the meeting held in Vratsa on  29th of April 2011. The reunion attracted considerable attention from media, business representatives, local employers, representatives of Regional construction Chamber Vratsa and participants from different institutions.  The debate was a part of the Xth Anti-Corruption Forum and it is an initiative of the Regional Council for Prevention of Corruption of Vratsa Regional Administration. Main speaker of the Forum was Mrs. Reneta Nikolova - President of Club Journalists Against Corruption in Bulgaria, TV journalist and winner of the“Journalist of the Year 2007” European Journalist Award.

The general suggestions of NGOs for improving the Public Procurement Law were the following: elaboration and implementation of common procurement contracts, removing the lowest price award criteria, include the representatives of professional organizations and external experts as members of the procurement commission during the selection procedure.
