Ivan Atuyambe, an activist of good governance for Sustainable Development is the Founder, current President and Team Leader for Africa Challenge Foundation (AFRICAF), which he has successfully seen grow from a University based Association to a national organisation. www.africachallengefoundation.org
AFRICAF is a youth-focused organisation that promotes sustainable good governance and development, integrity, ethics, moral value systems and youth employment and income creation.

Atuyambe currently volunteers with Transparency International Uganda, where he is helping to set up a Private Sector and Political Financing Integrity Programme. Since 2008, he has been a fulltime volunteer with the United Nations Association of Uganda where he mobilised youth for involvement and participation in implementation of UN MDGs. He is also a registered volunteer with Uganda Red Cross Society, and United Nations Organisation Online Volunteer Program analysing and keeping track on progress of MDGs targets and youth involvement. Ivan is also fulltime partner and volunteer with Hope Rwanda, a recovery and reconstruction program for genocide survivors in Rwanda.

He is a member and fellow of the Afri-Camp of the Open Society Foundations Initiative for East Africa, since 2010, an annual young leader’s forum for enhancing good governance and development. He is currently implementing the Youth Action to Combat Corruption, an Open Society supported project in Mukono district.

As an Anti-Corruption Activist, he has since 2009 launched the Youth Anti-Corruption Movement and organised integrity and anti-corruption conferences working in close partnership with the Inspectorate of Government and Directorate for Ethics and Integrity of the Republic of Uganda, National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Transparency International, Anti-Corruption Coalition Uganda, and ACLAIM Africa Ltd. In 2010, he successfully initiated a national youth-led integrity survey for integrity awards perceptions where youth nominated their role models and leaders of integrity in public service of Uganda, hence the 1st National Integrity and Public Service Awards held on 15th October 2010, which is now an annual event aimed at promoting integrity heroes as role models. Integrity Pillars Alliance (IPA) was launched on this day too.

While at Uganda Christian University (2008-2011), he was a leading debate advisor, member of university performance evaluation committee –representing students, where he has analysised, reviewed and developed policies. He also led the Integrity Barometer Watch at the Uganda Christian University effecting accountability and social-administrative justice.

Atuyambe is also Founder and Coordinator for Rukungiri Youth and Students’ Association (RYSA), an initiative to increase awareness and participation in leadership and development among youth and students’ of Rukungiri District, Western Uganda where he has led youth activities successfully since 2008.

In 2003, he founded the Life Changing Ministries Uganda, a youth initiative to preach the gospel of hope, God’s love and holistic development among youth. This team moves around Uganda reaching out to youth in schools responsible living and self development.

He has lived all his life as a youth leader and community service volunteer, with more than half of the time as a student leader, right from his Primary School in 1995/2001 where he begun as Class Monitor, rising within the ranks to Health Prefect and Head Prefect, to secondary school in 2002/2007 where he served on the school council and Head Prefect respectively, and headed a number of students’ clubs in school.

Atuyambe exhibits relative experience in policy and political analysis, socio-economic research, project planning and implementation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and Management (Hons) of Uganda Christian University.
