The Brasilia Declaration - 15th IACC, November 10, 2012

More than 1,900 people from 140 countries gathered in Brasilia to discuss one of the most pressing issues of our time: corruption in today’s world.

When the International Anti-Corruption Conference last met in Bangkok in 2010, the raging financial crisis made restoring trust an imperative. Since then, as a result of the lessons learned not being put into practice, the world has seen countless examples of trust abused.

Trust continues to be eroded. Many realise that in politics,…

Youth Demand To Have A Say In Fighting Corruption

Most corrupt countries have a large proportion of youth in the population. A big number of anti-corruption efforts are already operating in those states and there are surely more to come, but in most cases, youth seem to be left out of the fighting rings.

The members of Global Youth Anti-Corruption Network and young people participating in the 14th International Anti-Corruption Conference could not just sit and wait to be older to join the ranks.

They say, or even SHOUT,… Continue

Why and How They Fight Corruption - Stories from the Sidelines

We all are fighting corruption, but aren't we curious why and how our friends started it? Here's short stories from three of 1000-plus people pacing back and fro in the 14th IACC.

Luis Gomez-Echeverri, Austria

Why: Being active in overseeing and advising environment, climate change and developments programs makes him concerned about the climate change financing, which will grow… Continue

Empowering Empowerment

When you're having a conference of more than 1000 participants, like the conference we've got here, you cannot expect real dialogues inside the sessions. Most of it will be one-way and although the discussions might be interesting, it won't be engaging.

Unless you're lucky and plung yourself into one of the People's Empowerment Special Sessions, tucked inside the Ballroom A,… Continue

Ask Them To Work Together Against Corruption

Bored to death watching your leaders fighting corruption (or acting to fight it) with no avail or miniscule results? It's about time to voice your concerns on what really matters in fighting corruption.

The 14th International Anti-Corruption Conference in Bangkok next November invites youths to speak to the leaders. The conference will be attended by up to 1500 participants from over 135 countries, and the host wants them to hear your requests and recommendation…
