The Controller and Auditor General of Tanzania released his report for the fiscal year 2010 -2011.
The report has revealed how embezzlement of public fund is still a serious problem in Tanzania. The report brought into public awareness a loss of billions of money in which 13 billion shillings has been snatched in 8 districts.
This raged Members of parliament who were about to hold the prime minister accountable by posing a vote of no confidence on him simple to tear away the whole cabinet as there were no serious measures on the mentioned 8 ministers in the CAG Report.
The anger was also expressed by the public in various debates and this time not on prime minister but on the president to reshuffle his cabinet and pose other measures including court charges on his alleged corrupt ministers.
The president could not outstand the public and resorted to ditching six out of eight ministers.
Still, the emphasis of the members of parliament and the public is to ensure the ministers are sent to court or else the reshuffling is meaningless.
